Lexora's litigation practice is the bedrock on which the Chamber was built. Our advocates appear at every rung of Bangladesh's judicial hierarchy, from the Magistrate and Sessions Courts to the High Court Division and the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, carrying matters through from the first hearing to final execution.
Our litigators are equally at home before specialised forums such as the Artha Rin Adalat (Money Loan Courts), the Labour Courts and Labour Appellate Tribunal, the Administrative Tribunals, the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and the VAT Appellate Tribunal, giving clients a single point of contact regardless of which forum their dispute ultimately belongs in. This breadth means that when a commercial dispute spills across several jurisdictions or statutory regimes simultaneously — as complex disputes often do — our team can manage the matter end to end without having to bring in unfamiliar counsel at each new forum.
The practice is organised around dedicated teams for civil, criminal, administrative and commercial proceedings, each led by senior advocates with decades of trial and appellate experience. We place particular emphasis on early case assessment: before a matter is filed, our team works to map out the likely trajectory of the litigation, the evidentiary burden, the realistic timeline, and the range of commercially sensible outcomes, so that clients can make informed decisions about settlement, negotiation or a full contest from the very outset.
Because Lexora operates from offices in both Dhaka and Chattogram, we are able to run parallel proceedings in different cities without the delay and cost of engaging correspondent counsel, and to instruct on urgent applications — injunctions, stays, and interim relief — at short notice wherever in Bangladesh the matter is pending.
